A:  Click here to instantly apply and get a quote on-line through the IMG SelectaPlan secure web server or click to download the GMMI brochure and go to our Forms link for the GMMI application.  Click here to visit our SelectaPlan.  You will answer a few short questions and the SelectaPlan will determine which plan is suited for you.  You may also visit our GMMI webpage for detailed information on this product.  Click here for the GMMI premium rate table.

Q:  Is a U.S. citizen able to purchase the Global Mission Medical Insurance coverage?  How does the renewal process work for furlough or deputation?

A:  Yes.  It is available to Missionaries and their families of all nationalities.  U.S. citizens must reside abroad or plan to leave the U.S. on their effective date and plan to reside abroad for at least 6 months of the year.

If you are a US citizen and return to the US for a scheduled furlough or deputation, it is possible to renew the policy.  The intent to return directly to overseas service within 12 months must always be maintained.  If you have completed or resigned from service, you may continue coverage through the remainder of the policy period, at which time the insurance will terminate on the renewal date.  Please contact us if you have questions or concerns.

Q:  Can a non-U.S. citizen purchase the Global Mission Medical Insurance coverage?

A:  Yes.  It is available to all Missionaries and their families of all nationalities.  Non-U.S. citizens may reside anywhere, including their country of citizenship, although certain eligiblity restrictions may apply to non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States.

Q:  How young or old can you be to purchase the GMMI plan?

A:  Persons between the ages of 14 days and 74 years old may apply for coverage.  You are not eligible for the GMI plan if over 74 years of age.  Certain other restrictions may also apply.  Contact your agent for further details.

Q:  When should I apply?

A:  The easiest and most effective method to apply is online through our secure server with IMG - click here to quote and purchase the GMMI plan online.  Or, you can print the paper application and FAX or mail the completed application directly to IMG.  The number and address is found on the bottom of the last page of the application.

You can apply up to 30 days prior to your effective date.

Q:  Can we start coverage effective prior to the date we depart the US?

A:  Yes.  Only The Global Mission plan allows you as a missionary to take advantage of having up to 30 days of coverage while here in the US, prior to the date you intend to depart.  Please contact us for more information.

Q:  After applying, how long will it take to get approved?

A: Generally, you are approved within 5 to 7 business days from the date the application is received.  You will receive your policy in the mail within 2-3 weeks from the date of approval unless you agree to pay an additional charge for overnight delivery, which will get the policy information to you sooner.

Q:  What are the costs to add dependent children on to the GMMI plan?

A:  If both parents/guardians are insured under the GMMI plan, then the first two (2) children under the age of 10 are free.  If you have more than two children under the age of 10, then there is a premium charge for the third child.  If any of your children are above the age of 10, then there is a premium charge for such children.  Review the premium table
for rates.

Q:  Are the deductibles and co-insurance different depending on where you are residing in the world?

A:  Yes.  For eligible expenses incurred in the US and Canada: once the deductible is met, GMMI pays 80% of the next US$5,000 in eligible expenses then 100% of eligible expenses up to the policy maximum of US$5,000,000.  But, by utilizing our PPO network while in the US, you can reduce your deductible by 50% and any coinsurance applicable to that charge is waived when eligible treatment is received from a network provider.
For eligible expenses incurred outside of the US and Canada:  once the deductible is met, the GMMI plan will pay 100% of eligible expenses up to the policy maximum of US$5,000,000.  NO Coinsurance is paid outside the US and Canada!  Each person will
only need to satisy their deductible once per policy period (12 months), with a maximum of three deductibles per family.
