Overview of Global BASICSM Insurance:
Global Basic Insurance is designed to provide coverage similar to Global Medical Insurance, however, it features specific dollar limits on most benefits. This is the perfect plan for those who want coverage for a variety of medical services, but are seeking to reduce their premium costs.
US citizens must leave the US on their effective date and plan to reside abroad for at least six months. Non-US citizens may reside anywhere including their home country, although certain eligibility requirments may apply to non-US citizens permanently residing in the US.
Global Basic Insurancesm provides access to medical care worldwide including the United States. In the United States, Global Basic Insurance policy holders will enjoy a reduction in deductible and waiver of coinsurance in IMG's Preferred Provider Network of over 325,000 doctors and 3,500 hospitals. A new international network of providers is now available as well.
IMPORTANT: In order to qualify for Global Basic Insurance, citizens of the United States must intend to reside outside of the United States 6 months of the year. Your requested effective date must not be before the date of your departure and your application must not be submitted before 30 days of your impending departure date. NOTE: If participating in any hazardous activities / sports, you will also want to review the Patriot Extreme Travel policy as an addition. The Global Basic plan does not provide for coverage of hazardous sporting activities.
There is an additional option of adding Global Term Life Insurance SM and Global Daily Indemnity SM to your Global Basic Insurance coverage.
Global Term Life Insurance (Group Term)
Global Term Life Insurance provides protection for your family at the time of a traumatic loss and is available with no additional underwriting for those that qualify for the Global Basic Insurance plan. This coverage is available in either one or two units of coverage and includes an Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit.
Global Term Life Insurance is an optional program purchased in units. The number of units applicants may purhase is based upon their age at time of application and each subsequent renewal. Applicants from age 31 days through 18 years and from 65 through age 69 are eligible for one unit of coverage. Applicants from age 19 through age 64 are eligible for two units of coverage.
The first unit (or Basic Term Life Premium) is US$240 per year. The additional unit (or Supplemental Term Life Premium) is an additional US$180 per year. If both units are purchased, the total Term Life Premium is US$420 per year. Refer to the diagram below for coverage and units available:
Global Daily Indemnity
Global Daily Indemnity pays you US$100 for each covered overnight hospital stay other than those related to pregnancy. Unfortunately, obligations and bills continue even during a hospital stay. The Global Daily Indemnity is an excellent way to offset these expenses.
Lifetime Eligibility
Individuals covered by the Global Basic Insurance Plan by their 65th birthday who maintain continuous coverage to age 75 are eligible for IMG's Global Senior Plansm
Global Basic Insurance is available to Non-US citizens and their families of all nationalities.
